What a GEM!! Upstate Central Pennsylvania
Are you travelling to Corning NY or the NY Finger Lake region? Maybe the Pennsylvania Grand Canyon? Here is a place to stay which is within easy reach of all these. We stayed at the BriMarie Inn on our way back from a trip to Toronto and WOW! we were incredibly surprised/pleased...

This gorgeous 1870's building was beautifully restored and now contains eight lovely units (some with Jacuzzis) and a restaurant and bar. It's very close to Elmira NY (just south of 86, and a mile east of 220).

We stayed in the Elmer Room (there are photos on their website) and for the price ($75 & tax) had a lovely evening and a light breakfast the next day! The staff were very welcoming and helpful. The dinner menu looked great - we had already dined elsewhere but had a drink at the bar and got some good advice from the staff on places to go the next day for hiking.

We hope that the Bri Marie is around for a long time - had we known about this Inn, we would have avoided the Comfort Inn in Mansfield PA (where we stayed a week earlier) and had a much nicer experience overall.

Beautiful Inn
A friend and myself recently stayed at the Bri Marie when visiting my sister in Athens, PA. As soon as we pulled up we thought the building was really charming. Friendly staff was very helpful. During the remodeling they did a great job of keeping the original look of the building, but the rooms had beautiful modern bathrooms. Shower had great pressure, and even had aromatherapy salts in the room for it. Bed was so comfortable, slept great! Didn't have time to eat in the restaurant, but it smelled great and I've heard from friends up there that the food is excellent. Will definitely be staying there again.

Absolutely charming.
I ended up in this inn because all motels in Towanda and Mansfield, PA, were full. What a pleasant surprise! This inn is both spotless and beautiful. The restoration was done so well, and much care was taken in the decor of each room. I felt very pampered in the bathroom, and slept very well in the comfy bed. In addition, the food in the restaurant on the first floor was fabulous. I will definitely be returning.
